# CAS

O Serviço de Autenticação Central (CAS) é um protocolo de autenticação do tipo Single Sign-On (SSO), criado para simplificar o acesso a diferentes aplicações por meio de um login unificado. Desenvolvido originalmente pela Universidade de Yale, o CAS permite que o usuário se autentique uma única vez para acessar diversos sistemas protegidos, sem precisar inserir suas credenciais repetidamente.

A autenticação é realizada por meio de um sistema de "tickets", e o protocolo é compatível com vários provedores de identidade, como diretórios LDAP, bancos de dados e serviços baseados em OAuth.
